Replacing many of the US Army vehicles because of it's different configurations, the Humvee (or as it's also known as, the Hummer) has become one of the Army's most recognizable vehicles.
It has 15 configurations (cargo/troop carriers, weapons carriers, ambulances, and shelter carriers) that share a common engine, chassis and transmission, with 44 interchangeable parts. Capable of mounting a gun turret which is usually outfitted with a .50-cal machine gun or a Mark-19 automatic grenade launcher. Its specifications allow the vehicle to survive in many different situations.
